Beeswax wraps

Sustainable freshness with Toppits® beeswax wraps - can be reused up to 500 times

Toppits® beeswax warps - thanks to the bees. Their wax provides stability and protection in the beehive. Beeswax wraps also provide us with both of these benefits.

Our Toppits® beeswax wraps are made of organic beeswax, organic cotton, traditionally harvested pine resin and are ‘Made in Germany’. Thanks to the antibacterial properties of the raw materials and the special formability of the wraps, food stays fresh for longer naturally.

And best of all, Toppits® beeswax wraps can be reused up to 500 times. This makes them an especially environmentally friendly alternative for keeping food fresh.

TIPS FOR USING TOPPITS® BEESWAX WRAPS

How to use beeswax wraps

The warmth of the hands makes Toppits® beeswax wraps flexible and formable, perfect for covering plates or bowls or wrapping fruit, vegetables, bread or sandwiches. Even a cut cucumber can be kept fresh really easily.

Toppits® beeswax wraps can be stored in the refrigerator and even in the freezer compartment or freezer.

How to care for beeswax wraps

To preserve the natural protective properties of the wraps, simply rinse them with cold water after use and air dry. For heavy soiling, you can also use a mild detergent. Do not put the wraps to dry on a radiator or in the sun, as temperatures above 30 °C damage the wax.

To refresh the adhesive properties and reduce creases or wrinkles, the wrap can be briefly put in the oven. To do this, place the Toppits® beeswax wrap on a baking tray covered with Toppits® baking paper. Place in the oven at a maximum of 85 °C for a few minutes and keep an eye on the wrap. In this way the beeswax on the wraps remains as a natural freshness protection for a long time.

Further impregnation additives such as jojoba oil aren’t necessary and for this reason not used for the Toppits® beeswax wraps. Jojoba oil is mainly used in the production of skin creams and herbal medicines. For contact with food the principle is "less is more" and this is why Toppits® produces beeswax wraps without this ingredient.

What food should beeswax wraps not be used with

Beeswax wraps are not suitable for use with fatty foods, pineapple, raw meat and raw fish.

All other foods will be well protected in our colourful wraps. The blue and white striped wrap measuring 30 x 30 cm is perfect for larger bowls of salad or even cabbages and melons. The 20 x 20 cm wrap protects smaller items or cut vegetables and fruit. It can also be used to cover small plates or bowls.
